Microchipping

As of March 2016 it is a legal requirement for all dogs in Ireland to be microchipped. The owner must also be in possession of a microchip certificate from an approved database, such as fido.

What is a microchip?

A microchip is a small device, about the size of a grain of rice, that bears a 15 digit number. This number is unique to the animal in which the chip is implanted.

Non Surgical Reversible Castration

People can now avail of non surgical techniques to control the fertility of their male dogs. An implant, Suprelorin, is available that reduces the fertility of the male dog for either 6 or 12 months depending on the strength of the implant.
