Neurological conditions
Neurological disorders in pets are ones that originate in the central nervous systems and also the peripheral nervous system. The three main areas affected are the brain, the spinal cord and the nerves. Neurological conditions can be idiopathic (unknown cause), caused by trauma or infection. The clinical signs may vary depending on the origin of the neurological disease. With conditions originating in the brain symptoms can include seizures, a head tilt, or blindness. With spinal cord conditions symptoms may include an unsteady gait or complete loss of use of limbs. Typically the onset of neurological clinic signs are rapid and we would recommend that you contact your vet.
