Spays / neuters

Spays and Castrations are the most common surgical procedures carried out in veterinary clinics and we typically perform them on a daily basis. To spay usually refer to the neutering of a female while castrations refer to males. A spay is the common term for an ovariohysterectomy and involves the surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus. An orchiectomy or castration is performed in males and involves the surgical removal of both testicles. For more information please read our fact sheet on neutering your pet.
